Track Pinterest Traffic Conversion Using Google Analytics

Pinterest has become one of the widely used applications to discover information with the help of pictures. The app allows a user to pin any sort of content available over the internet which provides a great opportunity for marketers and opens a door to a wider range of audience.

A lot of people have been using Pinterest to increase the traffic to their site but today we'll see how we can keep a track of the traffic generated through Pinterest with the help of Google Analytics and URL Builder.

In this blog, We'll try to track one of our post on Pinterest.

The process is fairly simple and doesn't require any analytical skills but it will require a google analytics account for your website or blog which you want to track. The process is divided into two parts where Part 1 deals about how to integrate the two services and Part 2 covers the process of tracking the visitors.

Part 1

Step 1: Build a custom URL

First of all open Campaign URL Builder and fill in the given details.

Step 2: Copy the URL generated

Step 3: Use the URL to link it to the picture on Pinterest

Paste the URL in the space provided for Website.

Part 2

Log into your Google Analytics account with the help of your email credentials and choose following option

Acquisition > All Traffic > Source/Medium

You will be able to track the number of visitors to your site who has been converted from the Pinterest Post.
